Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, December 10, 2009….The Shaw Festival mourns the passing of renowned Canadian actress Goldie Semple. Ms. Semple died peacefully yesterday morning at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband of 33 years, Lorne Kennedy, and their 14 year old daughter, Madeline.

Nobody Told Me
Every year there are these things called grass roots projects. They are pieces that are created and presented outside of the festival by individuals of the ensemble, design and stage management crew. They are great opportunities for us to showcase ourselves and to dive into work that is outside the mandate of the festival.

Fighting
Here’s something that’s interesting…we just spent an hour and a half to choreograph less than a minute of fighting on stage. Just so you all know, stage fighting ain’t easy.
